CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK IN WEST POINT, NEBRASKA
Saturday, January 30,31 – Celebrating Our Parish
Catholic Schools Week officially began in West Point on January 30 and 31. Students served as lectors, servers and their families were gift bearers at all of the Masses. The Guardian Angels Youth Choir directed by Sister Elizabeth Benvie led the singing at the 6:00 p.m. Mass on January 30. The Central Catholic High School Choir under the direction of Mr. Bob Stokely sang at the 10:00 Mass on January 31.
Monday, February 1st – Celebrating Faculty, Staff, and Volunteers
“Hats Off to Teachers Day”
Teachers were served Breakfast pizza and their choice of coffee or juice.
Central Catholic High School students teamed with the Guardian Angels elementary students to create thank notes for their teachers. The cooperation and creativity was absolutely amazing!
Tuesday, February 2nd – Celebrating Vocations
The Groundhog Blizzard of 2016 caused school to be cancelled today!
We were supposed to have celebrated an All School Pre-K through 12 grade Mass. This Mass will be postponed to Friday, February 5th.
Our Archbishop George Lucas, as well as our Priests, Deacons, Sisters and Seminarians were going to join the students for lunch today.

Wednesday, February 3rd – Celebrating Our Students
“Get Smart Day”
The Groundhog Blizzard of 2016 caused school to be cancelled again today!
These are the activities that would have occurred on Wednesday:
- PreK – 6: Wear uniform pants and spirit wear shirts. Students in the Spelling Bee must dress up
- HS – Dress up (game day attire) or appropriate uniform
- 2:00 – 3:30 Events
- UNO tourney for PreK-2 – in old gym –
- Spelling Bee – Grades 4 – 6 in the cafeteria (3rd grade watching)
Knowledge Bowl – Grades 7 – 12 in the big gym
Thursday, February 4th – Celebrating Our Community
Today was a regular day except for activities in the afternoon:
- 2:00-3:30 Events
- PreK – 3 – in cafeteria making Blessing Bags
- Grades 4 -6 – in big gym for the School Spelling Bee
Friday, February 5th – Celebrating!
